Full Casting Announced for A.C.T.’s Scorched, Starring David Strathairn

American Conservatory Theater has announced full casting for its upcoming West Coast premiere production of Wajdi Mouawad’s Scorched. As previously announced, David Strathairn will lead the cast. Carey Perloff will direct.

In Scorched, after their mother’s death, twins Janine and Simon are given two letters with clues about their family’s mysterious past which leads them to embark on an unforgettable journey to the Middle East.

Strathairn will play bumbling notary public Alphonse Lebel, who helps the twins in their search. The cast will also feature Annie Purcell and Babak Tafti as the twins, and Marjan Neshat and Jacqueline Antaramian playing their mother at various ages. They are joined by Apollo Dukakis, Manoel Felciano, Nick Gabriel, and Omozé Idehenre.

The design team will include Scott Bradley (set design), Sandra Woodall (costume design), Russell H. Champa (lighting design), Jake Rodriguez (sound design), and Alexander V. Nichols (projection design).
