Tony Award winner Lillias White, former American Idol contestant Sabrina Sloan, and Broadway veteran Josh Tower will head the cast of San Diego Rep's world premiere production of Kirsten Childs and Andrew Chuckerman's musical The Princess and the Black Eyed Pea, to run November 23-December 21. The production will be directed by Stafford Arima and feature set design by Beowulf Boritt.

The show, which is an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, takes place in Africa and concerns a beautiful young princess (to be played by Sloan) looking for her own identity, who finds love at first sight with an impetuous prince.

The cast also features Tonex, Ken Prymus, Jr., Jennifer Leigh Warren, Angela Teek, Perry L. Brown, Harrison White, Sylvia Mac Calla, Angela Wildflower Polk, Warren G. Nolan Jr, Loren Lott, Kalif, and Brooke Aston. Arima's many directorial credits include Altar Boyz, Ragtime, and Ace.
