Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a wonderful, whimsical musical based on the classic Dr. Seuss book. Back for its 20th year, this family favorite features the songs "This Time of Year," "Santa for a Day," and "Fah Who Doraze," the delightful carol from the popular cartoon adaptation. Celebrate the holidays as the Old Globe Theatre is once again transformed into the snow-covered Whoville, right down to the last can of Who-hash.
Note: As in years past, The Grinch will be performed on Saturday, December 9, at 10:30am for children on the autism spectrum and their families as well as other families with special needs who may appreciate the welcoming and supportive environment this performance provides.
Theatergoers with a love for beer and delicious eats are invited to attend Foodie Fridays, where a ticket to select Playhouse performances also includes access to some of San Diego's finest food trucks, plus a complimentary microbrew tasting!!!!
The heartwarming holiday classic retold in the tradition of a live 1940s-era radio broadcast. When a department store Santa claims he's the real Kris Kringle, his case gets taken all the way to the Supreme Court. Watch the miracle unfold when the belief of a little girl makes all the difference in this iconic story. Staged with live foley effects and a score of favorite holiday tunes, Miracle on 34th Street is sure to melt even the most cynical of hearts.
Peter Pan and Tinker Bell — A Pirates Christmas is a flying, singing, and swashbuckling holiday adventure performed in the style of a British panto. Step into the Balboa Theatre and embark on a wild quest with Tinker Bell, Wendy, and Peter Pan as they try to put a stop to the plot of some dastardly pirates who plan to kidnap Peter as a present to Captain Hook. Filled with big laughs, magic, dancers, and contemporary songs by everyone from Taylor Swift to the Bee Gees, this family show has a little bit of something for everyone.
