The play is a comedic take on Hitchcock's 1935 classic thriller of the same name about a man named Richard Hannay (Deasy) who is forced by a mysterious woman's death into a cross-country race for his life. The play is adapted by Patrick Barlow, based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon and on the book by John Buchan.
The production team includes Peter McKintosh (scenic/costume designer), Kevin Adams (lighting designer), and Mic Pool (sound designer).
The La Jolla engagement is the show's West Coast premiere, and it will also play the Seattle Repertory Theatre September 25-October 18, prior to starting on a national tour. For more information, visit www.lajollaplayhouse.org.
