Old Globe Announces 2008-2009 Season

San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre has announced the selections for its 2008-2009 season.

The mainstage season will feature Darko Tresjnak’s production of Clare Boothe Luce’s classic all-female comedy The Women (September 13-October 26); Trip Cullman’s production of John Guare’s award-winning drama Six Degrees of Separation (January 10-February 25), and the world premiere of Mark Olsen’s Cornelia (May 16-June 21), about the life of the wife of former Alabama governor George Wallace, to be directed by Ethan McSweeny. A fourth play will be announced at a later date.

The Globe’s Arena Stage at the San Diego Museum of Art will host the world premiere of Itamar Moses’ Back Back Back (September 19-October 26), about three young men making their way in the world of professional baseball, to be directed by Davis McCallum; Seema Suko’s production of Mia McCullough’s Since Africa (January 24-March 8) about two volunteers who try to acclimate a young African boy to life in America; Kyle Donnelly’s production of Michael Hollinger’s acclaimed Opus (March 21-April 26), about the unhappy dynamics of a world-famous string quartet; and Richard Seer’s production of Arthur Miller’s classic family drama The Price (May 9-June 14).

In addition, the Old Globe will once again present its annual holiday offering Dr Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! (November 15-December 28).
