The Old Globe in San Diego has announced the cast for its world premiere production of three-time Tony nominee Rick Elice and Michael Patrick Walker's Dog and Pony. The new musical will begin previews May 28 and run through June 29, with opening night scheduled for June 5. Tony winner Roger Rees will direct.

With a book by Elice (Peter and the Starcatcher, Jersey Boys) and music and lyrics by Walker (Altar Boyz), Dog and Pony follows Mags and Andy, a screenwriting team with a successful track record and a professional relationship that's firing on all cylinders. But when Andy's marriage takes a turn for the worse, single Mags finds she wants something more.

Dog and Pony will feature Nicole Parker (Wicked) as Mags and Jon Patrick Walker (Young Frankenstein) as Andy, with Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Helen Hayes Award winner Heidi Blickenstaff (The Most Happy Fella), and Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia!) completing the cast.

The creative team includes Lisa Shriver (choreographer), Larry Hochman (orchestrator), Kris Stone (scenic design), Emily Pepper (costume design), Jeff Croiter and Cory Pattak (lighting design), Scott Lehrer (sound design), Adam Wachter (music director), Tara Rubin Casting (casting), and Anjee Nero (stage manager).
