Robert Foxworth, Melinda Page Hamilton Headline Old Globe’s Cornelia; Updated Casting for The Price Announced

Casting has been announced for the Old Globe’s world premiere production of Mark Victor Olsen’s Cornelia, to run May 16-June 21, with an opening on May 21. Ethan McSweeny will direct.

The historically-based play centers around divorced beauty queen Cornelia Folsom and her relationship with Presidential hopeful, Governor George Wallace. The cast will feature Melinda Page Hamilton as Cornelia, Robert Foxworth as George, Beth Grant as Ruby, Hollis McCarthy as Marie, and T. Ryder Smith as Gerald. The creative team will include John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Tracy Christensen (costume design), Chris Akerlind (lighting design), and Paul Peterson (sound design).

In related news, James Sutorius will join Dominic Chianese (who played Uncle Junior on HBO’s The Sopranos), Leisa Mather, and Andy Prosky in the Old Globe Theater’s production of Arthur Miller’s The Price, to run May 9-June 14. Miller’s drama focuses on two estranged brothers who reunite to sell the remains of their family’s possessions. Sutorius replaces the previously announced John Prosky.
