A young soldier comes home from World War II to find that the real battle has just begun. His parents, still mired in their long-standing resentments, vie for his love without seeing that the boy who left for war is not the man who has returned. This rarely produced Pulitzer Prize-winning work, The Subject Was Roses, celebrates its 40th anniversary on the Public's stage. Exceptions to the Performance Schedule Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. on February 7, 14 and 21 Thursday matinee at 2 p.m. on February 19 The Tuesday, February 17 performance begins at 7 p.m.
