Witness two magnificent actresses as they stake their claim to the throne in a no-holds-barred clash of political titans in Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart. The battle for power is led by two tour-de-force actresses: Lisa Harrow as Queen Elizabeth I, and Deirdre Madigan as Mary, Queen of Scots. Harrow last appeared on the O'Reilly stage in the title role of Medea, and Madigan was last seen as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. The lavish production is directed by the Public's Artistic & Executive Director, Ted Pappas, and features a commissioned original score composed by Michael Moricz as well as extravagant Elizabethan costumes by award-winning Broadway designer Paul Tazewell.
There will be special Saturday matinees on June 12, 19 and 26, and a Thursday matinee on June 24th. All matinee performances are at 2:00pm.
The Tuesday, June 22 performance begins at 7:00pm.
