Casting Announced for Pittsburgh’s City Theatre’s Long Story Short and Brothers Size

Casting has been announced for two upcoming productions at Pittsburgh’s City Theatre.

Pearl Sun and Ben Evans will star in Brendan Milburn & Valerie Vigoda’s world premiere musical Long Story Short (October 23-November 16), which follows a a couple as they share their first kiss and their futures of a life shared together come rushing to meet them. The piece is based on the play An Infinite Ache, by David Schulner. Tracy Brigden directs the show, which is a co-production with TheatreWorks in Palo Alto. The design team includes Neil Patel (set), Andrew David Ostrowski (lighting), C.T. Steele (costumes), and Elizabeth Atkinson (sound). Douglas Levine serves as musical director.

City Theatre will also present Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brothers Size, November 13-December 21. Robert O’Hara will direct the play, about Ogun Size (Albert Jones), the hardworking owner of a car repair shop in the Louisiana bayou, and his brother Oshoosi Size (Jared McNeill), just out of jail and happily aimless. When Oshoosi’s ex-con buddy Elegba (Joshua Elijah Reese) shows up, the Size boys clash. The design team includes Tony Ferrieri (set), Christian DeAngelis (lighting), Angela M. Vesco (costumes), and Joe Pino (sound).
