Tony Award nominee Rory O’Malley will return to Carnegie Mellon University, his alma mater, for a free one-night-only reading of 8 by Dustin Lance Black, September 10 at 7pm in the University Center’s McConomy Auditorium.

The play recounts the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Perry v. Brown), the case filed by AFER to overturn Proposition 8, which stripped gay and lesbian Californians of the fundamental freedom to marry.

After the reading, Jenny Kanelos, executive director and co-founder of Broadway Impact, will join O’Malley, who received a Tony nomination for his role as Elder McKinley in the original Broadway cast of The Book of Mormon, and the rest of the 8 cast for a Q&A session with the audience.
