Foote, Milburn, Porter, Simonson, Vigoda, et al. Set for City Theatre’s Momentum:08

Momentum:08, a four-day festival of new play readings and panel discussions, will take place at Pittsburgh’s City Theatre, June 12-15.

The event will feature readings of Daisy Foote’s Him, directed by Stuart Carden, about three siblings who inherit their distant father’s wildlife reserve; Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda’s Long Story Short, directed by Tracey Brigden; about a couple’s musical romance; Cori Thomas’ When January Feels Like Summer, directed by Billy Porter, about unexpected love connections for two homeboys, a garbage man, an Indian shopkeeper, and his transgendered brother; and Speak American, written and directed by Eric Simonson, about immigrant steelworkers in 1904 Pittsburgh.

Participating actors will include Kevin Brown, Rebecca Harris, Joshua Reese, Cary Spear, Sam Redford, Joel Ripka, John Shepard, Mark Staley, Purva Bedi, Kyle Beltran, Adam Berry, Benj Pasek, Debargo Sanyal, Chelsey Shannon, and Pearl Sun.
