WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In this dark comedy about the Dark Ages, the good brothers of a
down-on-its-luck monastery in Priseaux, France, are getting desperate:
The river flooded again last week, the chandler's shop just burned to
the ground, nobody's heard of the wheelbarrow yet, and the abbey's
patron saint hasn't produced a miracle in 13 years. All seems lost until
the destitute monks cross paths with a one-eyed traveling minstrel who
teaches them an outrageous new way to pay off old debts. Don't miss
this clever comedy written by Michael Hollinger, Villanova's resident
playwriting professor.
