Synopsis

It is a rock musical about an East German transgender singer who fronts for a fictional rock and roll band. The text is by John Cameron Mitchell, and the music and lyrics are by Stephen Trask. The musical premiered in 1998 and has been performed throughout the world in hundreds of stage productions, as well as being turned into a film.
