The Walnut Street Theatre has announced casting for its all-new production of Mel Brooks’ Tony-Award winning musical, The Producers, which will conclude the theater’s landmark 200th anniversary season. Marc Robin will direct the production, which will run May 12-July 19, with an opening set for May 20.

Based on Brooks’ 1968 film comedy classic of the same name, The Producers is about down-and-out producer and his nebbish accountant, who concoct a seemingly fool-proof plan to get rich quick by putting on the biggest flop Broadway has ever seen!

The cast is led by Ben Lipitz as Max Bialystock and Ben Dibble as Leo Bloom, with Amy Bodnar (Ulla), Jeffrey Coon (Franz Liebkind), Jeremy Webb (Roger De Bris), Robert McClure (Carmen Ghia), Sharon Alexander, Joe Jackson, Christopher Shin, Fran Prisco, Joey Abramowicz, Maggie Anderson, Sean Bell, Shavey Brown, Kelley Faulkner, Regan Kays, Stanley Martin, Katrina Newman, Kerri Rose, Megan Schmidt, Ryan James, Erica Sweany, James Tabeek, and Jesse Wildman.

The creative team will include Douglass G. Lutz (musical director), Robert Andrew Kovach (scenic designer), Paul Black (lighting), Colleen Grady (costumes), and Nick Kourtides (sound).
