Casting has been announced for Plays & Players' East Coast premiere of William Shakespeare's Land of the Dead, written by John Heimbuch, which will run March 12-28. Bill Egan will direct.

The play purports to tell a "true and accurate account of the 1599 zombie plague that spread to the Globe Playhouse," and will intermix horror conventions with characters and events from Shakespeare's life.

Daniel Student will star as Shakespeare, with the cast also including Ryan Walter, Paul McElwee, David Stanger, Tom Blair, Peter Danzig, Tanya Lazar, Molly Casey, Dan Higbee, Nick Troy, Mugambi Nthiga, and an ensemble of zombies and soldiers.

The production will feature fight direction by Shoshanna Hill and Owen Timoney, set design by Lance Moore, costume design by Val Starr, lighting design by John Curall, and sound design by Jessica Pfeffer.
