Act II Playhouse is proud to present Charles Ludlam's comic masterpiece The Mystery of Irma Vep, directed by Associate Artistic Director Harriet Power. This madcap quick-change comedy spoofs classic horror movies, "penny dreadful" Victorian stories, Shakespearean tragedies, Wuthering Heights and Hitchcock's Rebecca in a wild tour de force production. Two actors - Pig Iron Theatre Company Co-Artistic Director Dito van Reigersberg and Philadelphia actor Luigi Sottile - perform eight roles, rapidly changing costumes, genders and physicalities in a zany backstage ballet.
