The Maguffin explores how contemporary political issues, in recent years gay marriage, are exploited by sound-bite politician's need for media control and re-election. Ultimately, the right and left must pit themselves against each other to maintain their own identity.The Maguffin features characters reminiscent of Karl Rove, Jim McGreevey and Ann Coulter caught eating candy under their tasks, tangoing in sushi restaurants and singing alongside homosexual film directors.
