WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Two of Shakespeare's insignificant characters get a play of their own in Tom Stoppard's comedic masterpiece Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. The play tells the story of Hamlet from the point of view of his school-friends-turned-spies as they struggle against their fate and the play's inevitable conclusion. Stoppard's nimble wit, command of language, and enthusiasm for the absurd shine in this: his most recognizable play.
