Based on the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, Oliver! is the musical tale of a mistreated orphan who flees a draconian London workhouse and is taken in by a gang of street toughs. The gang's leader, the Artful Dodger, plans to teach Oliver the art of picking pockets so he can help add to the wealth of Fagin, the gang's aging patron. But on his first job, Oliver is arrested and thus begins a winding journey of danger, deception, discovery and redemption.
