One of the most celebrated works in American literature, it is the haunting tale of George and Lennie, two lonely migrant workers who dream of a place they can call their own. Their unlikely friendship infuses both men with hope for the future, but as all too often happens, "the best laid schemes o' mice and men" go awry as they pursue the dream that sustains them.
