WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

If walls could talk, the revolution would not have to be televised! What happens when a neighborhood has been singled out as ground zero for restructuring? What happens when a young college grad has been commissioned to paint a waterfall on a wall that feels the violence, drugs, and gentrification of its neighborhood? On this day the wall and the neighbors say, "No More!" [Strong Language | Recommended for ages 14 and up] Inspired by the revolutionary murals of Mexican artist Diego Rivera, Muralista explores the challenges of a community as it struggles against economic forces in a new kind of urban renewal that threatens its very existence. Muralista explores both the artistic use, and political exploitation of the art form as a means to an end, or beginning, of a neighborhood.
