WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Madame Douce-Amere, by renowned Philadelphia artist Emmanuelle Delpeche-Ramey, is an exploration of youth as remembered by the old woman to whom it belongs. Told through clowning, mime, sign language, and an accompanying violin, Madame Douce-Amere is a work of wordless language. It is the story of a woman traveling back into the healing joy of memory and sharing all that she finds.
