Based on the original French movie of the same name, La Cage Aux Folles is a wonderful retelling of the story of a gay man, his drag-performer lover, their soon-to-be-married son, the uptight in-laws and their nightclub. Includes big showstopping numbers like "La Cage Aux Folles" and "The Best of Times" as well as touching love songs like "Song on the Sand" and "Look Over There." Witty and clever, it still manages to tug at the heartstrings.
