WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Joan Crawford in Her Own Words is an original staged adaptation crafted from the star's interviews over the many decades of her legendary career. In a comic blend of sugary light and caustic frankness, Philadelphia actor Eric Singel's portrayal of the willful star invites the cabaret audience into her living room for an evening of cocktails and conversation as she prepares for what will turn out to be her final public appearance at the Rainbow Room. Fortified with a bit of 100-proof vodka, Miss Crawford may even touch on some sore subjects. What brings a wide-eyed Texas girl to the "town without pity"? How many failed marriages and troubled children does it take to win an Oscar — or the title "box office poison"? Fasten your seat belts because you haven't seen bumpy until now!

A part of the Philadelphia FRINGE Festival, this show takes place at Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar (200 S. 12th St.).
