James Joyce is Dead and So is Paris: The Lucia Joyce Cabaret recreates the absurd life of Lucia Joyce-the cross-eyed, Irish beauty, who, born in the shadow of her father's fame, died in the wake of obscurity behind asylum walls. Before you get all down in the mouth, James Joyce is Dead. . . is not a tragedy-it's a tragi-comedy. Pig Iron Theatre Company has created in this work a vibrant, buoyant, exuberant, and even whimsical rock opera, steeped in vaudeville, dada, and hard-hitting rock-n-roll.
