On Golden Pond begins its run tonight at Bucks County Playhouse. The show takes place at a lakeside cottage in Maine, where Norman and Ethel Thayer have lived together for 48 summers. This particular summer is upended by the arrival of their daughter and her new boyfriend, who stop by to drop off his teenage son for the summer. Together these characters will learn about growing up, growing old, and the ties that bind.

Real-life married couple Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey) and Mia Dillon play Norman and Ethel Thayer along with Todd Cerveris as Charlie Martin, Cameron Clifford as Billy Ray Jr., Don Noble as Billy Ray, and Christa Scott-Reed as Chelsea Thayer. The show was written by Ernest Thompson and is directed by Jonathan Silverstein.

"Ernest Thompson's beautiful comedy about love is timely and offers a sparkier slant than the beloved film," says Playhouse producing director Alexander Fraser. "We are thrilled to have Keir and Mia and their fellow cast members join us in New Hope."

The creative team includes Steven C. Kemp (set design), Jennifer Paar (costume design), Gina Scherr (lighting design), and Obadiah Eaves (sound design and original music).

Performances will run through August 2.
