EgoPo Productions will present a one-night-only performance of their signature production of Spring Awakening, December 13, at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in the Harold Prince Theater. Lane Savadove will direct.

The play — written by Frank Wedekind and translated by Douglas Langworthy — follows a group of 14-year-olds as they grapple with their sexuality in Victorian Europe. Written in 1891, this piece launched the avant-garde and was not performed without censorship for nearly a century. The play is also the basis for the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name.

The cast will feature Kevin Melendez as Melchior, Megan Hoke as Wendla, Doug Greene as Moritz, Sarah Schol as Frau Bergman, Kelsey Malone as Frau Gabor, Rob Neddoff as Herr Gabor, Nathan Edmondson as Hanschen, Brenna Geffers as Ilse, Sean Lally as Ernst, Andrew Gorell as Headmaster Sunstroke, and Ross Beschler as The Masked Man.

The creative team will include Jamie Grace-Duff (costume design), Naomi Littell (mask design), Matt Sharp (light design); and Nick Lopez, Corey Lunchuck, and Bart Healey (set design).
