The Wilma Theater has announced two panel discussions, After the End of History (October 20) and Body and Soul in Rock ‘n’ Roll (October 27), as part of the theater’s “Symposium Series.” They will be presented in conjunction with the Philadelphia premiere of Tom Stoppard’s Tony-nominated play, Rock ‘n’ Roll, which is currently running at the Wilma through October 26.

After the End of History will be moderated by critic Carlin Romano (The Philadelphia Inquirer), and feature Benjamin R. Barber, political scientist and author of Jihad vs. McWorld; Trudy Rubin, who writes the “WorldView” column for The Philadelphia Inquirer; and Paul Wilson, translator for former Czech President Vaclav Havel and former member of the Czech rock band The Plastic People of the Universe.

Body and Soul in Rock ‘n’ Roll will feature philosopher and neuroscientist Owen Flanagan; Robert Kurzban, director of Penn Laboratory for Experimental Evolutionary Psychology; and author Joseph LeDoux. These events are free to all Rock ‘n’ Roll ticket-holders and $10.00 for the public.
