Michael Krajewski to Conduct Peter Nero and the Philly POPS in 2013

Michael Krajewski will replace the late Marvin Hamlisch as guest conductor during the 2012-2013 Peter Nero and the Philly POPS season.

Hamlisch, who died on August 7, was slated to conduct the Bond and Beyond concert series on April 26, 27, and 28, which will now be led by Krajewski. Debbie Gravitte will serve as guest vocalist.

Krajewski will also conduct the Lennon and McCartney concert series on March 15, 16, and 17. The series will feature the members of “Classical Mystery Tour” and present POPS recreations of Beatles hits like “Yesterday” and “Penny Lane.”

The Philly POPS season also includes Dancing and Romancing (October 12-14); Holiday POPS! (December 7-22); Mostly Gershwin, featuring Marcus Roberts (February 8-10), and Super POPS Broadway (May 10-12).
