Philadelphia Improv Festival Announces Line-Up

The line-up has been announced for the fifth Annual Philadelphia Improv Festival, to be held at The Society Hill Playhouse, October 1-3.

The festival will showcase long and short form improv groups from all over the country, along with workshops to help performers hone their craft. As previously announced, the festival will host a special show featuring the improvised musical group, Baby Wants Candy, which has a cross-country following and teams in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. Featured performers in the group (not necessarily performing at the Philadelphia Improv Festival) include MadTV‘s Nicole Parker, SNL‘s Seth Meyers, 30 Rock‘s Jack McBrayer, Rachel Dratch, Stephanie Weir, Garry Tallent, and Mark Pender.

The festival will also include return engagements of BillyHawk (iO West), Dr. Fantastic (Washington Improv Theater), 30,000 Khz of Sound (New York), Marjean (Improv Boston), and Bombardo (New York); local favorites Rare Bird Show, BWP, ComedySportz, Illegal Refill, The Real Housewives of Philadelphia, and Philly Improv Theater’s resident teams; and the father-teen daughter improv duo Grandma Hates Technology.
