Seussical Jr. to Open Walnut Street Theatre’s WST for Kids Season

The musical features Dr. Seuss favorites such as The Cat in the Hat and Horton.

Walnut Street Theatre has announced that a production of Seussical Jr. will kick off the WST for Kids 2013-2014 season. The live performance will take place September 21 and 28.

Seussical Jr. is based on the works of children’s author Dr. Seuss. It follows the faithful Horton as he searches for his lost Whoville, reminding audiences of the importance of faith and friendship. Seussical had its Broadway opening in 2000 and was written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. The musical has had two successful national tours.

Eric Thompson will be music and vocal cirector for the production, with choreography by Samuel Antonio Reyes.
