Philly Improv Theater to Offer Live Tapings of Podcasts During Philly Fringe

The Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) do two live tapings of podcasts during the Philly Fringe. The Sound of Young America, a public radio show about pop culture, hosted by Jesse Thorn, will tape at 10 p.m. at The Adrienne on Wednesday, September 16. On Thursday, September 17, internet sensations You Look Nice Today and Jordan, Jesse, Go! will record their podcasts — with special guests — in front of a live audience.

PHIT’s overall involvement in the Philly Fringe will include 16 days worth of sketch and improv comedy at The Adrienne and at Philly Improv Theater’s home base at 407 Bainbridge Street. During the Fringe, PHIT will host a 24 Hour Improv Marathon, the shows Abrdgd Frng and 3 Mad Rituals, Devin Keast in his one-man show Sunshineface, and Coach & Fly, created by PHIT Director Scott Sheppard.

PHIT resident groups Activity Book, Fletcher, Everything Must Go, and The Moops will perform, and the company will also showcase its affiliate teams, Rare Bird Show, Illegal Refill, Cubed, BWP, Meg & Rob, and The Action Section.
