David Greenspan to Perform The Myopia at Bryn Mawr College

Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series has announced its 2011-2012 season.

Among the offerings will be five-time Obie Award winner David Greenspan’s solo show The Myopia: An Epic Burlesque of Tragic Proportions, to run December 2-4. In the piece, Greenspan portrays 22 characters including President Warren G. Harding; Febus, who has been trying to write this musical about Harding for most of his life; Koreen, who had been previously hidden away from the world in a gigantic tower (a la Rapunzel) by her controlling mother Yetti; Febus’s son Barclay, and others.

In addition, Celtic singer Julie Fowlis will offer a concert on October 28 and the Ying Quartet will appear on January 20. There were also be appearances by the John Jasperse Company, which will offer Fort Blossom (February 24-26), and Rennie Harris Puremovement, which will perform The Ladies of RHPM on March 16.
