Walnut Street Theatre Announces Independence Studio on 3 2008-2009 Season

The Walnut Street Theatre’s Independence Studio on 3 has announced its 2008-2009 season which will be presented in the Walnut Street Theatre’s Studio 3 theater.

The season will open with a holiday visit to Tuna, Texas in Tuna Christmas, November 25-January 4, the sequel to Greater Tuna with twenty four characters played by Benjamin Lloyd and John Zak. O Captain, My Captain, January 20-February 8, will bring Walt Whitman’s portrait of Abraham Lincoln, followed by Jane Martin’s Criminal Minds, February 24-March 15, a comedy about breaking into hearts, homes, and minds.

Next up will be Honor and the River, March 31-April 19, Anton Dudley’s story of a teenaged boy named Eliot who must confront his fear of water and the ghost of his drowned father. The season will close with Forbidden Broadway, May 5-June 28, which will send a satiric salute the best of Broadway, including Annie, Sound of Music and Man of La Mancha, for the Walnut Street Theatre’s 200th anniversary.
