People’s Light & Theatre Announces Cast for Dividing the Estate

People’s Light & Theatre has announced casting for its production of Horton Foote’s Dividing the Estate, to run May 11 – June 5 on the Main Stage.

Director Abigail Adams will draw inspiration from a 1989 visit with Horton Foote at his home in Wharton, Texas to appropriately depict Texas in 1987. It was the height of the oil recession, a time in Texas when banks failed, real estate tanked, people lost their jobs, and communities fell apart.

In Dividing the Estate, which takes place in fictional Harrison, Texas, a family crises forces a clan of self-absorbed, endearingly dysfunctional brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and servants to agree on a course of action to steady what looks like a very uncertain future.

The cast will include Carla Belver as Stella Gordon, Elena Bossler as Sissie, Lou Ferguson as Doug, Victoria Frings as Emily, Amy Hutchins as Pauline, Aimé Kelly as Cathleen, Emilie Krause as Irene Ratliff, Christian Pedersen as Son Gordon, Kathryn Petersen as Mary Jo, Marcia Saunders as Lucille, Cathy Simpson as Mildred, Graham Smith as Lewis, and Greg Wood as Bob.
