Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Wilma’s Eurydice

Full cast and creative team information has been announced for The Wilma Theater’s Philadelphia premiere of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. Directed by Wilma co-artistic director, Blanka Zizka, the production will run April 30-June 1, with an opening set for May 7.

The play is a modern tale of loss and love as the classic myth of Orpheus is retold from the heroine’s point of view. An original musical score from renowned composer Toby Twining — performed by live musicians — will be featured in the production.

Merritt Janson will play the title role, and the cast will also include Gene D’Alessandro as Big Stone, Ben Huber as Orpheus, Stephen Novelli as Father, Erin Reilly as Little Stone, Triney Sandoval as Nasty Interesting Man/Lord of the Underworld, and Cathy Simpson as Loud Stone.

The design team will include Mimi Lien (set), Tyler Micoleau (lighting), Oana Botez-Ban (costumes), Jorge Cousineau (sound).
