Storybook Musical Theatre offers some valuable lessons about greed and false promises with their production of Rumpelstiltskin (through March 11). When a Miller brags to the King about his daughter’s talent for spinning straw into gold, the young girl is called upon to demonstrate her skill. Unable to perform the task, she relies on Rumpelstiltskin to get her out of the jam. But before he’ll do anything for her, Rumpelstiltskin requires the girl to make a promise to him – one she may not be able to keep.
