Victoria Rose Bonito, Rob Kahn, Jered McLenigan Set for Upcoming Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre Shows

The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre has announced casting for two plays in its spring season. Twelfth Night will perform March 23-May 20, and Titus Andronicus will play April 11-May 19.

Artistic/Executive Director Carmen Khan’s staging of Twelfth Night draws inspiration from the surrealism of Renè Magritte and music from the critically acclaimed Triplets of Belleville and is subtly immersed in the sights and sounds of the 1930’s.

The cast of will include Victoria Rose Bonito (Viola), Caroline Crocker (Olivia), Rob Kahn (Malvolio), Claire Lenehan (Feste), Jered McLenigan (Orsino), Johnny Smith (Aguecheek), Ian Sullivan (Sebastian), J.J. Van Name (Maria), Eric Van Wie (Sir Toby Belch), and Davon Williams (Antonio / Captain).

Director Aaron Cromie’s Titus Andronicus uses light and shadow play, specially designed puppets, and copious amounts of stage blood to tell the story of what is believed to be Shakespeare’s first tragedy.

The cast will feature Victoria Rose Bonito (Ensemble), Caroline Crocker (Tamora), Rob Kahn (Titus), Claire Lenehan (Lavinia), Jered McLenigan (Saturninus), Johnny Smith (Ensemble), Ian Sullivan (Chiron/Demetrius), J.J. Van Name (Ensemble), Eric Van Wie (Ensemble), and Davon Williams (Aaron).

The two productions’ design teams will include Lisi Stoessel (set design), Maria Shaplin (light design), Vickie Esposito (costume design, Twelfth Night), Natalia de la Torre (costume design, Titus Andronicus), Louise Grafton (prop design). Original music for Twelfth Night will be composed by Fabian Obispo, and original music for Titus Andronicus will be composed by Aaron Cromie.
