Casting has been announced for Renaissance Music Theatre Company’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, to run March 7-10 at Iron Gate Theater.

The twelve-member company will feature Geoff Bruen (Mr. Linquist/Frid), Kristen Burke (Countess Charlotte Malcolm), Angela Carolfi (Desiree Armfeldt), William Connell (Henrik Egerman), Ray Croce (Frederik Egerman), Lauren Cupples (Petra), Susan Fowler (Mrs. Anderssen), Katy Gentry (Mrs. Nordstrom), Fernando Gonzalez (Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm), Helen McCrane (Madame Armfeldt), Patti Lee Meringo (Anne Egerman), and Ceilidh Merk (Fredrika Armfeldt).

Renaissance founder Lance Moore will direct the musical, which is based on Ingmar Bergman’s 1955 film Smiles of a Summer Night. Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s musical adaptation premiered on Broadway in 1973 and won Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. Focusing on a group of mismatched lovers who travel to the country for a weekend getaway, the score features Sondheim’s legendary hit “Send in the Clowns.”
