To some, the title of Boy Gets Girl may bring to mind a dreamy tale of a man and woman seemingly unlikely to be destined for eternal love, that somehow through intense adversity find their way into each others hearts and become soul mates forever. Be cautioned, as this story is quite the opposite.

Theresa Bedell is a career magazine reporter in New York. After she goes on an awkward blind date with a friend of a friend, she sees no reason to continue the relationship, but the handsome younger man thinks otherwise. Theresa is at first annoyed, yet flattered by Tony's continued attention. However, her attitude gradually transitions to one of fear as Tony persistently pursues her. Along the way, the play delves into questions of what exactly is appropriate or not when romantically advancing on someone. At what point does persistence become obsession? Rich insight is given to the brilliant delineation of the kind of terror a woman in full control of her life feels when everything around her appears as a threat to her very existence.
