Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (OST) will present Tony Award winner Brian Bedford in his one-man show The Lunatic, the Lover and the Poet, at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

In the piece, Bedford creates a dramatic portrait of Shakespeare by combining the Bard’s writing; the facts of his life and his own experience with Shakespeare’s plays.

Bedford recently directed and starred in The Importance of Being Earnest on Broadway, for which he was nominated for a 2011 Tony Award and received a 2011 Drama Desk Award for his portrayal of Lady Bracknell in the production. He won a Tony in 1971, for The School for Wives, and has also been Tony-nominated for Tartuffe, London Assurance, The Moliere Comedies, Timon of Athens, and Two Shakespearean Actors.
