Cynthia Rider Named New Executive Director of Oregon Shakespeare Festival

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has announced the appointment of Cynthia Rider as its next executive director. The current executive director, Paul Nicholson, retires in December after 33 years with the organization.

Rider has previously served as managing director at Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Prior to serving in that position, Rider served as the company’s associate director for advancement and administration, raising over $7 million for a capital/endowment campaign, and launching a five-year plan for new work development which resulted in the world premieres of A Christmas Story: The Musical! and Venice. She has also worked as executive director of Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey.
