New Works by Tanya Saracho, Naomi Wallace Part of Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s 2013 Season
Artistic Director Bill Rauch has announced the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s 2013 season, to run February 15-November 3.
Productions in the Angus Bowmer Theatre will include Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, directed by David Ivers; the Lerner and Loewe musical My Fair Lady, directed by Amanda Dehnert; August Wilson’s Two Trains Running, directed by Lou Bellamy; Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Christopher Liam Moore; and the world premiere of Tanya Saracho’s Dreams of the Muse.
In the festival’s New Theatre, productions will include Shakespeare’s King Lear, directed by Rauch; the world premiere musical The Unfortunates, featuring book, music, and lyrics by 3 Blind Mice (Jon Beavers, Ian Merrigan, Ramiz Monsef) and Casey Hurt, and directed by Shana Cooper; and the world premiere of Naomi Wallace’s The Liquid Plain, directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah.
The Elizabethan Stage will feature Shakespeare’s Cymbeline, directed by Rauch; David Farr’s The Heart of Robin Hood, directed by Joel Sass; and Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Christopher Liam Moore.
