Synopsis

Two-time Tony Award nominee and Oklahoma native Kelli O'Hara will come home to star as Laurey Williams in the Official State Centennial production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!

Who will take Laurey Williams to the box social? That simple question is played out by the hearty, pioneering men and women of the American west. Aunt Eller, Curly McLain, Jud Fry, Ado Annie, and Will Parker are but a few of the characters who take us all on the journey to statehood.

The production is directed by Nick Demos, while a team of Oklahoma choreographers will blend their talents to create the show's rich and beautiful movement. The group will be headed by Demos and CeCe Farha, and will also include Lyn Cramer, Ashley Stover Wells, and Amy Reynolds-Reed. Music direction will be provided by Maestro Joel Levine.

When Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein teamed up for the first time to write Oklahoma!, they had no idea what the show would come to mean to both musical theatre and to the state of Oklahoma. Its title song was officially designated as the official Oklahoma state song in 1953, and the tradition of standing and singing it with pride is thread into Oklahoma's culture.
