Mann…and Wife begins its run tonight at Lyric Theatre.

Based on Dan Elish’s novel "Nine Wives," the story follows Henry Mann. With his ex-fiancée’s wedding on the horizon, Henry has to find the perfect date. With one actor playing all of his love life, the musical includes a tuneful score and charming story that reminds the audeicne of the timeless need for love and a lasting relationship.

The show was co-written by Elish and Douglas J. Cohen and will be directed by Michael Baron, Lyric’s artistic director. The cast includes Zachary Prince as Henry Mann, Liz Shivener as all the women in Henry’s dating life, and Mateja Govich as Glenn.

"The story of Mann…and Wife, about relationships and finding love in the modern world, is touching, tuneful, and hysterically funny," said Baron. "Lyric’s audiences tell me, time and time again, that the shows they love the most are those with lots of heart. This show has that in spades. "

The creative team includes Adam Koch (set design), Jeffrey Meek (costume design), Art Whaley (lighting design), Maurizio M. D’Errico (sound design), and Rickelle Williams (stage manager).

Performances will run through February 21.
