Stevie Holland to Play Cole Porter’s Wife in New Musical, Love, Linda

Stevie Holland will play Cole Porter’s wife, Linda, in a new one-woman musical, Love, Linda at the Triad Theatre, to run October 28 – November 21. Ben West will direct.

Holland and Gary William Friedman have based the piece on the life of the woman who married the songwriter Cole Porter at the dawn of the roaring twenties, a marriage that lasted for 35 years. The score for the show includes such beloved Porter songs as “So in Love,” “In the Still of the Night,” “Love for Sale” and “Night and Day,” along with lesser-known Porter tunes.

The production will feature dresses by Pamela Dennis, and jewelry by Verdura, whose designs were worn by iconic women such as Katharine Hepburn and Greta Garbo. Cole and Linda Porter were among the designer’s top clients.
