Paul Anthony Stewart to Star in Crime and Punishment at Cleveland Play House

Emmy nominee Paul Anthony Stewart will star as Raskolnikov in a stage adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment at The Cleveland Play House, February 27-March 22, with an opening set for March 4. Anders Cato will direct.

Adapted by Marilyn Campbell and Curt Columbus, this 90-minute work utilizes three actors to explore Dostoevsky’s complex examination of man’s capacity for cruelty and the redemptive power of goodness.

The cast will also feature Patrick Husted and Lethia Nall. The creative team will include Lee Savage (set), Olivera Gajic (costumes), Jeff Davis (lighting), and James C. Swonger (sound).

Stewart received his Emmy nomination for his work on Guiding Light, and has appeared on Broadway in the revivals of Fiddler on the Roof and Cyrano – The Musical. Additional theater credits include White Water, Quills, Hello Again, and Children of Eden.
