WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
George Bernard Shaw's side splitting comedy, You Never Can Tell, offerings a hilarious and insightful look at marriage, family and the modern woman. Mrs. Clandon, a celebrated writer and independent New Woman, returns to seaside England with her three adult children - Gloria and twins Phillip and Dolly - after an 18-year self-imposed exile in Madeira. The Clandons' chance meeting with a dashing dentist, Valentine, and his landlord, Mr. Crampton, sets up an unexpected family reunion. It just goes to show that you never can tell.

A Terrific Production of Shaw's Play
You Never Can Tell is one of George Bernard Shaw?s lesser known-works, relatively infrequently performed in the United States, which is why we owe a special debt of thanks to the exceptionally talented cast now bringing it to life at the Gloria Maddox Theatre at T. Schreiber Studio and Theatre.
While the plot of the play isn?t much, Shaw uses it to full advantage in exercising his acerbic wit and that alone would make seeing this play worthwhile. In addition, however, the cast of this production is terrific across-the-board, providing the audience with a most delightful afternoon or evening?s entertainment.
Ive posted an expanded review of this play and several other plays on my blog www.aseatontheaisle.blogspot.com.

RE:you never can tell
Probably the best off off Broadway production Ive ever seen, and Ive seen plenty. Almost like Broadway. The actor playing Gloria is very talented and also very beautiful.
