New Perspectives Theatre Company is proud to present our Third Annual Women's Work Lab Short Play Festival: IN THE PAPERS! PROGRAM A starts off the festival at 8:00pm on Monday, September 20th. In "Mary and East" by Stacy Osei-Kuffour, directed by Pat Golden a kidnapped boy and girl try to piece together the reality of their lives from recovered memories and questionable details "ripped from the headlines". An absurdist satire, "Vanishing Print" by Calla Videt, directed by Jenny Greeman, forecasts what a loss of paper might mean to language and our ability to communicate with future generations. PROGRAM B opens Tuesday, September 21st at 8:00pm with Ione Lloyd's "Dead People's Things", directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. An elderly woman ending her days at a Widows and Veterans' home finds an unexpected "partner in crime" in this audacious exploration of sexuality and race. Set in the Texas Hill Country "Quimera on the Storm" by Rosebud Ben-Oni, directed by Melody Brooks, is a poetic homage to the people who have left their mark upon a land, and the question of who "belongs" in any particular place. Programs run in repertory from September 20th-26th 2010.
